The Sharpest Betrayal

"When exactly are you going to stop lying, Dylan? Milo has already accepted me." Ruby's voice dripped with petulance, and I heard the cat's soft purr. Dylan's reply was muffled. "Cut it out. She hasn't noticed yet. Just wait till I make the arrangements." "Arrangements? You're just reluctant to let her go!" Ruby's voice rose sharply. "When you said you'd keep Milo here, it was just an excuse to see me! You defended that cat even after she got scratched three times—you were trying to drive her away, weren't you?" I pushed the door open, my knuckles white with rage. "So Milo was never left here by a friend?" Ruby turned to me with a smirk, her eyes brimming with provocation. "What else did you expect? Did you really think you're the lady of this house?" Dylan grabbed her arm and snapped at me, his tone sharp. "Stop being so paranoid!" I locked eyes with him, watching him avoid my gaze, and asked slowly, word by word: "How many more things have you been hiding from me?"收起

Chapter 1 of "The Sharpest Betrayal"

That cat bit my hand again, and blood was seeping between my fingers. I gritted my teeth and grabbed some iodine as Dylan Lynn's gentle voice came from the living room. "Milo, stop messing around, be good." I peeked over; he was crouched on the floor, gently stroking the fur of that ragdoll cat, Milo. "Dylan Lynn, it bit me again." I raised my injured hand. He glanced at it, his tone completely casual. "How did you provoke it again? Milo's really soft-natured—he wouldn't bite first." I was stunned; this was already the third time I'd been bitten. He always does this—without asking why, he immediately takes the cat's side. "I was just passing by the sofa when it suddenly lunged and bit me," I protested. Dylan Lynn stood up and grabbed a towel to wipe the cat's paw. "You probably startled it with your sudden move. Be more careful next time." He had no intention of helping me treat the wound, instead turning to the kitchen to warm some goat's milk for the cat. I looked at my bleeding finger, feeling cold and bitter inside. This cat was brought home by Dylan Lynn six months ago, supposedly entrusted by a friend, yet he clearly cared for it more than he did for me.

My university diploma was still warm in my hand when my grandfather's call came through: "Lydia, the young master of the Gresham Family is waiting at the café. Go now." I gripped that thin piece of paper as if I were holding onto a destiny already arranged for me. I pushed open the café door, and the man in the gray suit looked up, his eyes appraising me like a product: "You're Lydia Sue, right? Next week, you'll go to City H with me to build our relationship." Before I could even nod, he was already standing. What I didn't know was that those two huge suitcases were packed full of ridiculous secrets that would completely change this trip.收起

My Stepsister's Fake Death

Ben slammed his wine glass hard on the table, the wine splashing onto the back of my hand, sharp and cold. "Wendy, you actually think you deserve to celebrate a birthday?" "Today's Nancy's death anniversary, you poisonous woman who stole her place—how dare you have the nerve to celebrate your birthday?" I trembled all over, about to explain, but he shoved me harshly to the ground. "If it weren't for you, Nancy would never have thrown herself into the sea." "I should've let you die with her!" In excruciating pain, my phone buzzed with an anonymous message—a glaring photo. Nancy, wearing a bikini, nestled in the arms of a stranger, laughing wildly and carefree. Then the phone rang, Nancy's voice dripping with sarcasm: "Sister, happy wedding anniversary." "Nancy? You're not dead?" "Dead? How could I possibly die without seeing you suffer at Ben's hands, worse than death itself? What a waste that would be." "You think Ben loves you? You're...

David stretched out his hand, which was missing an index finger, and walked toward me. The old scar at the stump glowed with a cold light under the desk lamp. "Nancy, I lost my finger to save you back then. Can't you give me another chance..." "When you used your hand to help Miss Xavier hide the pillow that killed my child, why didn't you think about giving my child a chance?" Miss Xavier immediately rushed over, the tips of her nails almost poking my face. "Nancy, you're talking nonsense!" I stared at David's trembling severed finger. "At three o'clock in the morning, you secretly threw the pillow stained with my amniotic fluid into the garbage dump. Do you want me to find the cleaner from back then to confront you?" David's face turned deathly pale in an instant, and he clenched his fists. "I was just afraid your father would withdraw his investment and the company would go under..."...

Reborn Not to Be a Punching Bag

At the moment the waves shattered the reef, I sank to the bottom of the sea, bearing eighteen years of grievances. Before my consciousness faded, Tina's malicious laughter still echoed in my ears: "Nicole, you're just a country bumpkin. Everything that belongs to the Scott Family was always mine!" "I never wanted to take anything from you, Tina," I said, coughing up seawater, my voice hoarse. "But why did you forge evidence, claim I stole Mom's jewelry, and drive me out of the house?" Mrs. Scott's voice was as cold as ice: "Don't call me Mom! Tina is my only daughter. Someone like you, who came from an orphanage, is not worthy of the Scott Family!" My eldest brother Bruce stood aside, his eyes filled with disgust: "Behave yourself and get out. Don't bring shame to the Scott Family anymore." The salty seawater choked my throat, and my heart was filled with resentment—I was the true young lady of the...
