The Widow's Payback

My son, Sawyer Evans, is in the emergency room being pumped—poisoned by my husband Frank Evans' mistress, Grace Lindsay. I kicked open her door; she was casually wearing a face mask. "You poisoned the milk?" My voice trembled. "So what if I did?" She pulled off the mask, smiling wickedly. I lost all control; the moment I plunged the fruit knife into her arm, Frank Evans burst in. "Ivy! Are you crazy?!" He shoved me aside and grabbed Grace Lindsay. "Yeah, I'm crazy." I wiped the blood from my face and looked him straight in the eye. "Frank, I want a divorce. I'm taking Sawyer with me." He looked like he'd just heard a joke. "Sawyer is my child; you have no right—" "He's not!" I cut him off, every word sharp as ice. "Sawyer is my son with Kingsley Flores! Your entire family's empire is propped up by his patents!" I stepped forward and locked eyes with his shaking gaze. "Frank Evans, listen. Just like I used patents to lift you to the top, I can pull you down with my own hands." "I can take everything you have away from you anytime."收起

Chapter 1 of "The Widow's Payback"

I gripped the hospital diagnosis slip tightly, eyes fixed on the red light above the emergency room. Sawyer Evans, my son, only three years old, is currently being pumped out inside after drinking a glass of poisoned milk. The doctor said we were lucky to get here in time; otherwise, the outcome would have been unthinkable. And the one who poisoned him was none other than my husband Frank Evans's kept mistress, Grace Lindsay. A raging fury instantly devoured my sanity. I spun around and rushed out of the hospital, driving straight to the apartment Frank bought for Grace. The door wasn't locked. I kicked it open and saw Grace lounging on the sofa, casually applying a face mask while binge-watching a show. "Grace!" I ground my teeth, my voice trembling with fury. She jumped, peeled off the mask, and when she saw me, a contemptuous smile spread across her face. "Look who it is... Miss Hill? What an unexpected... pleasure." "You poisoned Sawyer's milk?" I closed the distance between us, step by step. Grace raised her eyebrows and openly admitted, "So what if I did? Who told him to get in my way?" "Do you even know he's only three years old?" My voice broke with tears, but mostly it was anger. She stood up, leaned in close, and spat venomously, "Frank said he'll have a smarter son with me in the future. This little bastard is just dead weight." The word "bastard" stabbed into my heart like a knife. I completely lost control. Grabbing a fruit knife from the tray beside me, I stabbed viciously at her arm. "Ah!" Grace screamed, blood instantly staining her white nightgown. At that moment, Frank pushed the door open and walked in. Seeing the scene, he immediately rushed over and grabbed Grace, then glared at me fiercely, "Ivy, are you out of your mind?!" "Out of my mind?" I laughed, tears streaming down my face, "Frank, divorce!" Hearing the word "divorce," Frank froze for a moment before scoffing, "Divorce? Ivy, don't you think too highly of yourself." He helped Grace sit down, pulled out a wad of cash from his wallet, and threw it in front of me: "Take the money and get lost. Behave yourself as the lady of the Evans family, and don't cause me any trouble." "I don't want your money." I stared into his eyes, speaking every word clearly, "I want a divorce, and I'm taking Sawyer with me." "Taking Sawyer away?" Frank laughed like he'd heard the biggest joke ever, "Ivy, don't forget, Sawyer is a child of my Evans family. You don't have the right to take him away." He paused, his tone dripping with sarcasm, "Look at you—what good are you, other than holding onto a kid?" "Not like Grace—she's gentle and understanding, and she actually knows how to make me happy." "And I have several other babies, each with their own strengths; any one of them is better than you." I stared at his smug face, the chill in my chest deepening. This man was no longer the same as he once was, back when he went out of his way to please me. After that, he stopped looking at me, turned carefully, and helped Grace up. "Grace, let's go to the hospital."

I stared at Amy's post on my phone, my fingertips cold — the mole on the man's inner wrist in the holding-hands photo was unmistakably Charles's. "Charles, who is this woman to you?" "She's just my assistant. Don't overthink it." He avoided my gaze. "An assistant who wears a custom pink diamond? A wedding ring engraved with her name?" I slammed my phone down. "Was it her who added macadamia nut powder to Nora's puree?" Charles's face paled instantly. "It was an accident!" "She knew Nora was allergic! You knew it too, but you covered for her!" My eyes red, I closed in on him. Amy burst in suddenly, waving a bracelet identical to mine. "Lisa, be smart and get a divorce. Charles loves me." "You murderer!" I lunged at her, only to be held back by Charles. "You're crazy! Amy's pregnant with my child!" He shielded her, his eyes icy cold. I looked at the two of them, laughing...

Ex-Husband, Your Move

On our third wedding anniversary, I flew to M City without telling Caleb, wanting to surprise him. When I opened my eyes again, a collar fastened with an iron chain was nailed to a lamppost, and the bitter wind stung my cheeks sharply. Whitney was wearing his usual black overcoat, pinching my chin condescendingly: "Susan, did you really think Caleb only has you in his heart?" "Where's Caleb?" I roared as I struggled, only to be yanked down hard onto the ground by the chain. A black sedan pulled up slowly, and he got out, wrapping his arm around Whitney. I screamed at him like I was clutching a lifeline: "Caleb! Save me!" But he let out a low chuckle, bending down to say to Whitney: "You really know me. This sense of humor is right up my alley." "A sense of humor?" My blood ran cold. "Were our three years of love just a joke to you?" Whitney tiptoed...

"Sign it, or I'll keep you in the dark forever!" Michael's voice was as cold as ice. He threw the divorce agreement and the cornea donation agreement onto my bedside. My eyes widened in disbelief. "How could you be so cruel? She was the one who set the fire!" "No one will believe you. Will you sign it or not?" He stepped closer, his gaze as sharp as a knife.
