Billion-Dollar Divorce

2026-03-04

I'm the live-in son-in-law of a wealthy family, publicly humiliated by my wife who thinks all I do is mooch off her. She dropped 30 million trying to curry favor with City A's heir apparent, and I immediately announced a 100 million donation to smack her down. She flew into a rage and demanded a divorce—I signed without hesitation. When her family went bankrupt and begged to reconcile, I laughed coldly and shut the door. Now, I'm heading back to inherit a billion-dollar fortune.收起

Chapter 1 of "Billion-Dollar Divorce"

The weekend breeze carried a cool edge as it brushed past me and Moira Franklin. The moment we stepped into the charity gala's ballroom, the glare from the crystal chandeliers nearly made you squint. Fragrant clothes and glossy hair, glasses clinking—everyone here seemed to be wearing a carefully crafted mask. Moira Franklin linked her arm with mine, wearing a courteous smile as she greeted the entrepreneurs around us one by one. I followed her closely, but my mind was completely detached. For me, these kinds of events were just another day at the office. Before long, the host stepped onto the stage, grabbed the microphone, and cleared his throat. The room fell instantly silent, every eye locked on the stage. "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you all for joining us at tonight's charity gala." The host's voice echoed through the speakers, filling the entire hall. "According to our gala's rules, tonight the person who donates the highest amount will win a private dinner with the heir apparent of City A." As soon as those words were spoken, a wave of whispers broke out among the audience. Some eyes sparkled with anticipation, clearly intrigued by this "heir apparent"; while others wore confused looks, apparently wondering what kind of figure this "heir apparent" actually was. I sneered inwardly, guessing that this so-called "heir apparent of City A" was probably just a gimmick cooked up by the organizer. They just want to use that name to push everyone here into donating like crazy, all to climb the social ladder—in the end, it's just a cash grab. I've seen tricks like this way too many times. I turned to Moira Franklin, ready to tell her my thoughts and warn her not to get hoodwinked by the Organizer—throwing that money around wouldn't do a damn thing for the Company's growth. But before I could say a word, Moira's assistant, Danny Wallace, came rushing over. Danny's face was lit up with excitement as he leaned in and whispered a few words into Moira's ear. Moira Franklin's eyes suddenly lit up, and the smile at the corner of her mouth became even more pronounced. Without hesitation, Danny Wallace strode onto the stage and grabbed the microphone from the host. He cleared his throat and announced loudly, "Everyone, on behalf of the Franklin Group, I'm proud to declare that tonight we're donating thirty million!" "Thirty million?" "OMG, the Franklin Group is really laying it on thick!" "They're seriously trying to buddy up to that heir apparent, huh?" Danny's words hit the banquet hall like a thunderclap, setting it buzzing. Everyone was stunned, whispering among themselves, their eyes locked firmly on me and Moira Franklin. I was speechless too—never expected Moira to have Danny Wallace donate that much. Thirty million isn't pocket change, all just to have dinner with some so-called "heir apparent" whose legitimacy no one can confirm? This is absolutely absurd.

I never imagined that I, just an ordinary delivery guy, would end up involved in something like this. That night at midnight, like usual, I was riding my electric scooter through the darkness, carrying a steaming hot spicy crab, heading straight to Glory Residence—that's River City's well-known upscale neighborhood. I watched his wedding to another woman, my heart shattered like a blade. For eight years, I had been his paramour, believing that was love. A Rusted Love, A Life in Debt

I once believed that the worn coin was our vow never to part. "When I get rich, Cindy Gilman," Evan Shaw said, pressing the coin into my palm, his eyes bright like stars, "I'll use it to marry you." Ten years later, dressed in suit and tie, he married my stepsister, Tina Leslie. He brought her to my shabby candied hawthorn shop, his voice flat: "Two skewers, please." I threaded the hawthorns and handed them over without looking up. "Fifteen a skewer, scan the code." He reached deep into his pocket and pulled out that old coin, its edges worn down heavily. "Cindy, do you still remember?" His voice was low, "It's what I owed you back then." I pushed his hand away, like shoving aside a pile of burning ashes. "I don't accept coins anymore," I said, "especially old ones."收起

I still remember clearly—those hands, rough as sandpaper, gripped my wrist so tightly and shoved me harshly off the sixth-floor windowsill. The debt collector's pounding on the door was deafening, but Lily Clark just smiled coldly, "You never deserved to live the life that was meant for my daughter!" When I opened my eyes again, I found myself back at the first moment she forced me to lend money to my brother. It turned out I wasn't even their biological child—I was the child swapped by that cruel nanny. This time, I'm determined to reclaim the life that was stolen from me!收起

My Doting Ex Boss

I rolled down the car window and stared at the figure bending over to pick up the exercise books. "Look up. State your name." He lifted his eyes, his voice as cold as ice. "Simon. None of your business." I twirled the diamond bracelet on my wrist and flipped a black card onto his exercise books. "Come with me. Money, power, a future—I'll give you everything." He brushed the black card away with his hand. "I can't accept the charity of Miss Scott." "Charity?" I scoffed. "There's nothing I can't get in this world—you included." He stood up straight. "You can try." I narrowed my eyes and tapped my fingertips against the car window. "I'll try then. Let's see how long you can keep this tough act up." He ignored me and turned to leave, but I called out to him. "Simon. Remember this day. From now on, I'm the one who holds your life in my hands." His steps...

Happiness is Never Denied

I was two months pregnant, but at the New Year's party, I heard my husband's childhood friend Penny smile and say: "I did more private things with Leo before." " My husband Leo blushed but didn't deny it. He just said casually, "That's in the past." I had intended to get a decent divorce, but unexpectedly I fell into a deeper conspiracy. Penny turned on the live stream and cried her eyes out. "Leo and I have been in love since childhood. It was always Annie who stood between us!" "She insulted me and even slandered me for stealing!" Everyone started to look down on me, and I became the mistress that all despised. What's even worse is that they came to the door with food and pretended to apologize. I drank the vegetable soup they made, but what I got in return was a severe abdominal pain. After that, the doctor told me, "There are a lot of substances...

You Killed Me, Then You Loved Me

My marriage contract was a reckless gamble—betting three years of my youth, betting on a child, betting that he would spare me a glance. "Joseph, if I'm pregnant, would you stay with me a little longer?" I pressed close to his ear, my voice sickeningly sweet. He shoved me away, his gaze cold as ice: "Bella, stop dreaming." That day, I overheard his phone call with Jasmine. "She can't get pregnant." He chuckled lightly, like he was talking about the weather, "That accident... I arranged it." I leaned against the wall, my nails digging into my palm. "Why?" I heard my own trembling voice. He turned around, looked at me, his eyes completely unfeeling: "Because you're not worthy." Later, when I handed him the divorce papers, he signed without hesitation. Seven days later, I was supposed to fly far away, but at the last moment, I called him— "Joseph, if I told you I'm pregnant with your child, would you...

After the 99th Confession

2026-03-04
I stood in front of the tightly closed door, my palms drenched in sweat. Today was supposed to be the day I proposed to Calvin for the 100th time. My heart was filled with anticipation. "Anna, what are you here for again?" Calvin leaned against the doorframe, his eyes cold and a look of impatience tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Calvin, this is the 100th time. You said you'd marry me once I'd done it a hundred times." He let out a soft chuckle, his eyes full of sarcasm. "Don't be so naive. Those were just jokes." My heart plummeted suddenly, as if falling into an abyss. "Why? I've changed so much for you..." "That's just your own self-indulgent devotion," he said. Just then, a news alert popped up on my phone—Calvin had made a high-profile confession to Quincy. I froze in place, tears gushing out of my eyes. "Calvin, have you had enough?"收起
