Happiness is Never Denied

2026-03-04

I was two months pregnant, but at the New Year's party, I heard my husband's childhood friend Penny smile and say: "I did more private things with Leo before." " My husband Leo blushed but didn't deny it. He just said casually, "That's in the past." I had intended to get a decent divorce, but unexpectedly I fell into a deeper conspiracy. Penny turned on the live stream and cried her eyes out. "Leo and I have been in love since childhood. It was always Annie who stood between us!" "She insulted me and even slandered me for stealing!" Everyone started to look down on me, and I became the mistress that all despised. What's even worse is that they came to the door with food and pretended to apologize. I drank the vegetable soup they made, but what I got in return was a severe abdominal pain. After that, the doctor told me, "There are a lot of substances for abortion in your body!" I called for help, but Penny chuckled on the phone, "Annie, stop playing tricks and acting."收起

Chapter 1 of "Happiness is Never Denied"

The heater, wrapped in the smell of alcohol, filled the private room, and the noisy New Year's party was about to blow the roof off. I touched my lower abdomen, where a tiny life just two months old was growing. Leo Luke sat beside me, his fingertips occasionally brushing the back of my hand with a polite gentleness. Penny Scott smiled brightly as she raised her glass; she was Leo Luke's childhood friend and the center of attention at the party. The bottle for Truth or Dare spun round and round, finally coming to a steady stop pointing at Penny Scott. Amid the jeering, she covered her mouth, laughing, her eyes flickering toward Leo Luke. "I did very private things with Leo back in the day." That one sentence stabbed the noisy room like an ice pick; after an instant of silence, an even louder burst of mocking laughter erupted. Leo Luke's face flushed beet red, but he didn't deny it, only murmuring, "That was so many years ago." My blood turned ice cold instantly, a dull ache throbbed in my lower abdomen. I steadied myself on the table and stood up, my voice trembling but clear: "Leo Luke, we're getting a divorce." The laughter in the private room suddenly died down, and all eyes locked onto me. The smile on Penny Scott's face froze, then she quickly put on a hurt look. "Annie, I was just joking. Don't take it seriously." "Joking?" I stared at Leo Luke. "Is this something you can just joke about? How many more things are you hiding with her?" Leo frowned and grabbed my arm. "Don't make a scene. We'll talk about this at home." "At home?" I shook off his hand. "I don't want to stay there for even a second." Penny was still stirring the pot next to us. "Annie, you're pregnant. Don't get so emotional—you might hurt the baby..." "I'll protect my child, I don't need your fake concern!" I shouted, my chest heaving fiercely. Leo saw how firm I was and his tone hardened: "Annie, can you just be sensible? It's New Year's eve—don't kill the mood for everyone." "Sensible?" I laughed through tears, "I'm carrying your child, and your childhood friend shamelessly says that in front of everyone—are you seriously telling me to be sensible?" The argument blew up like an explosion in the private room. Looking at these two disgusting people in front of me, I couldn't hold it in any longer—I grabbed my bag and stumbled out. The biting cold wind outside made my tears stream down, and the pain in my lower abdomen grew sharper. Back in the empty villa, the servant carefully handed me a cup of warm water. I sat on the sofa, my mind replaying Penny Scott's smug yet hurt expression.

After the 99th Confession

I stood in front of the tightly closed door, my palms drenched in sweat. Today was supposed to be the day I proposed to Calvin for the 100th time. My heart was filled with anticipation. "Anna, what are you here for again?" Calvin leaned against the doorframe, his eyes cold and a look of impatience tugging at the corner of his mouth. "Calvin, this is the 100th time. You said you'd marry me once I'd done it a hundred times." He let out a soft chuckle, his eyes full of sarcasm. "Don't be so naive. Those were just jokes." My heart plummeted suddenly, as if falling into an abyss. "Why? I've changed so much for you..." "That's just your own self-indulgent devotion," he said. Just then, a news alert popped up on my phone—Calvin had made a high-profile confession to Quincy. I froze in place, tears gushing out of my eyes. "Calvin, have you had enough?"收起

A Love Designed to Hurt

The phone rang—it wasn't Ethan. I hadn't even had time to react when the door was kicked open. They covered my mouth and dragged me into the car. I was locked in an abandoned warehouse for over ten hours, without eating and drinking, until Ethan burst in with the police. He held me tightly, his hands trembling, his voice quivering: "Elizabeth, don't be afraid, I'm here." After the rescue, he was tender and attentive, until I realized I was pregnant. When I told him the good news, he paused in surprise, then smiled, placing his palm gently over my belly: "I will take good care of both of you." But later, he handed me a paternity test report, his expression darkened. "Look at this." The conclusion on the report struck like a heavy blow—the child was not biologically related to him. "Impossible!" I gripped his arm. "This must be a mistake!"

Dump the Loser, Become the CEO

I was choking on the stench of the dirty Christmas stocking. When I yanked it out, Lucy was wearing my nightgown, with the limited-edition necklace bought with my parents' inheritance around her neck. "Alex Fisher, how dare she do this to me?" My voice was hoarse. "Lucy's just fooling around. Cut her some slack." He frowned. "Fooling around? Using my parents' money to buy a 'counterfeit' to curry favor with your mistress?" I pointed directly at the necklace. Lucy giggled coquettishly. "Alex has been fed up with you for ages. I'm his true love." "True love?" I stepped closer to him. "You tricked me into investing the inheritance to save the company, just to buy this crap?" He roared. "The money was for cash flow!" "Cash flow that requires a necklace and an haute couture priced at ten million?" I held up my phone. "I've got all the recordings and transfer receipts of you two." He raised his hand to...

The day my mother slipped into a coma again, I ran through the hospital corridors in my patient gown, heading straight for Uriel Chandler's office. As I climbed the stairs, my foot suddenly slipped—the scattered walnuts looked like a carefully laid trap. I fell, struck the ground, and a sharp pain exploded from my lower abdomen. Before losing consciousness as they lifted me onto the stretcher, I heard Uriel Chandler talking on the phone just around the corner. His voice was low, carrying a cold patience I had never heard before: "Don't worry, the switch in her mother's medication was done so covertly no one will detect it." "These walnuts will just cause her to lose the baby." On the other end of the phone, a syrupy voice purred, "Uriel, you're so good..." When I woke up again, Uriel Chandler was sitting by my bed, his right hand wrapped in thick gauze stained with blood. "Eileen, I'm sorry..." His voice...

The Baby She Lost, The Baby He Had

Pushing open that slightly ajar door, all my sweet illusions froze in an instant. "Rose, once our children are born, we'll have both a son and a daughter—no more regrets." It was his voice. Through the crack of the door, I saw him half-kneeling, holding his brother's wife's pregnant belly with his hands. I leaned against the cold wall, barely keeping myself from collapsing. I fled like a runaway, cold wind choking my throat. Inside the car, I dialed a secret number. "Help me find Anthony Sterling and Rose Xavier. Money is enough." A few days later, I received a response. Staring at the photos and documents in the email, I slipped off my diamond ring. In the dressing table mirror, my face was as pale as paper.收起
