Dump the Loser, Become the CEO

I was choking on the stench of the dirty Christmas stocking. When I yanked it out, Lucy was wearing my nightgown, with the limited-edition necklace bought with my parents' inheritance around her neck. "Alex Fisher, how dare she do this to me?" My voice was hoarse. "Lucy's just fooling around. Cut her some slack." He frowned. "Fooling around? Using my parents' money to buy a 'counterfeit' to curry favor with your mistress?" I pointed directly at the necklace. Lucy giggled coquettishly. "Alex has been fed up with you for ages. I'm his true love." "True love?" I stepped closer to him. "You tricked me into investing the inheritance to save the company, just to buy this crap?" He roared. "The money was for cash flow!" "Cash flow that requires a necklace and an haute couture priced at ten million?" I held up my phone. "I've got all the recordings and transfer receipts of you two." He raised his hand to hit me, but I dodged sideways and pressed the emergency call button. He scrambled to stop me. "Let's keep this between us—don't make a scene!" I sneered and hung up the call. "We stopped being husband and wife the day you betrayed me." His eyes bulged with rage. "Laura, you dare to ruin me!" I waved my other phone, which contained the core bid documents of the Fisher Group. "Ruin you? — Guess how long the Fisher Group will last if I hand this over to Simon?"收起

Chapter 1 of "Dump the Loser, Become the CEO"

My mouth was stuffed with a dirty Christmas stocking that smelled rancid. I jolted awake, my fingertips pressing against the stiff, uncomfortable fabric. "Oh, you're awake?" Lucy Lynn's coquettish voice came from the other end of the sofa. Lucy was curled up on Alex Fisher's sofa, playing on her phone while wearing my silk bathrobe, her red nails glaringly bright. "Was that you?" I yanked out the stocking, my throat dry and hoarse. "If not me, then who?" Lucy shook her smooth ankle. "Who told you to cling to Mrs. Fisher's spot? Alex has been tired of you for a long time." My head feels like it's splitting open; I still remember waiting for him until dawn last night on Christmas Eve. "Alex Fisher wouldn't let you do this." I clenched my fists tightly. Lucy Lynn suddenly burst out laughing and brushed back the long hair by her neck: "Look at this—what do you think it is?" Under the lights, the limited edition necklace around her neck dazzled me painfully—only three exist worldwide, worth nearly ten million, bought with my parents' inheritance. The villa's front door was pushed open, and Alex Fisher walked in, exuding a cold aura. "Alex!" Lucy immediately rushed over and nestled against him. "Laura has woken up, and she doesn't seem very happy." Alex Fisher walked in coldly, shooting me a glare and frowning, "What are you causing trouble about now?" "Me, causing trouble?" I pointed tremblingly at my mouth, "She shoved dirty socks in my mouth. What do you think I'm making a fuss about?" "Lucy's young; she's just playing around." He patted Lucy on the back, then glared at me, "Can't you just cut her some slack?" "Playing around?" I pointed at the necklace, "Alex Fisher, how much did this 'toy' cost?" Lucy clutched her neck tightly; Alex avoided my gaze and said, "It's a high-quality fake—she liked it, so I bought it." "Counterfeit?" I laughed out loud, "It's engraved with a unique serial number on the inside. Want me to take it off and check?" His face went pale as he gripped my wrist tightly. "Laura Scott, don't push your luck!" I pulled away from him. "Last month you said the company was short on cash and tricked me into investing my parents' inheritance. And this 'counterfeit' is what you bought?" Alex Fisher's eyes flickered, but he didn't say a word. "Not only are you cheating, you lied to me for money to please your mistress. It disgusts me." "The company really is struggling! That money was for operations!" Alex shouted. "Operations require a necklace and an haute couture gown priced at a million?" I stared at his luxury watch—the one I gave him as a wedding gift. "Where's your conscience?" Lucy poked her head out. "Alex and I are sincere; he just hasn't said it out loud yet." "Using my money to claim sincerity? You both are shameless." He raised his hand to hit me, but I turned my head to dodge. "Alex Fisher, try touching me." His hand froze in midair but finally dropped. "This isn't a place for you to make a scene." "Ever since you both stepped through that door, this has never been my home." I turned and walked to the foyer to make a call.

As I climbed the stairs, my foot suddenly slipped—the scattered walnuts looked like a carefully laid trap. I fell, struck the ground, and a sharp pain exploded from my lower abdomen. Before losing consciousness as they lifted me onto the stretcher, I heard Uriel Chandler talking on the phone just around the corner. His voice was low, carrying a cold patience I had never heard before: "Don't worry, the switch in her mother's medication was done so covertly no one will detect it." "These walnuts will just cause her to lose the baby." On the other end of the phone, a syrupy voice purred, "Uriel, you're so good..." When I woke up again, Uriel Chandler was sitting by my bed, his right hand wrapped in thick gauze stained with blood. "Eileen, I'm sorry..." His voice...

Pushing open that slightly ajar door, all my sweet illusions froze in an instant. "Rose, once our children are born, we'll have both a son and a daughter—no more regrets." It was his voice. Through the crack of the door, I saw him half-kneeling, holding his brother's wife's pregnant belly with his hands. I leaned against the cold wall, barely keeping myself from collapsing. I fled like a runaway, cold wind choking my throat. Inside the car, I dialed a secret number. "Help me find Anthony Sterling and Rose Xavier. Money is enough." A few days later, I received a response. Staring at the photos and documents in the email, I slipped off my diamond ring. In the dressing table mirror, my face was as pale as paper.收起

I dragged my broken leg, crawling through the snow leaving a trail of blood, and knocked on the door that used to be mine. The one who opened it was my former mother; she recoiled as if seeing filth. "Why are you here again?" "Mom... save me..." Jill Fletcher approached, her gaze as cold as ice. I clung to the last shred of hope: "Jill, I'm being bullied..." "Don't call me Jill." The CEO's Broken Promises

Fireworks still bloomed across the city night sky. I leaned in Louis's arms, staring at our wedding photos looping on the screen, yet not a trace of warmth reached my fingertips. He bent down to kiss my forehead, his voice gentle enough to drown in: "Nancy, having you and Andy makes my life complete." This marriage admired by all was nothing but sugar-coated poison from the very start. That stormy night, I overheard a conversation between Louis and Vivian by chance. "Louis, are you really going to keep hiding this from her forever?" Vivian's voice trembled with unease. Louis let out a cold laugh, his tone sharp and icy: "What else? She's merely a pawn sent by the Shawn family." "Only Andy is the true heir to our family—this secret must never get out." "But what if... what if she finds out?" "Finds out?" A ruthless glint flashed in Louis's eyes. "Then we'll shut up her up forever."收起
