The day I stepped out of prison, clutching the faded photo of Mason Lynn and me, my heart was bursting with hope for our future. But inside the villa, he was softly feeding his pregnant wife an orange—the woman carrying his child! "You've been to prison; how dare you compete with me for purity?" His words were like knives, tearing through my heart. Where am I supposed to go?收起

Chapter 1 of "Upon My Release"

The heavy prison gates slammed shut behind me, but my hand still gripped that faded photo. In the photo, Mason Lynn smiled gently. He'd promised to wait for me—to marry me once I was free. The sunlight was glaring; I stood at the corner for half an hour, but I didn't see the familiar black sedan. I pulled out my phone and dialed that all-too-familiar number. It rang three times before someone hung up. A knot formed in my chest as I followed the memory of the path toward Mason Lynn's villa. Just as I reached the gate, I saw his car parked in front of the garage. The car door opened; Mason got out first, then reached out to help a woman in a white dress step down. Her belly was unmistakably pregnant, and she needed gentle support as she walked. Mason lowered his head to speak to her, his voice softer than anything I'd ever heard before. My feet felt as heavy as lead, rooted to the spot as I watched them walk into the villa. I don't know how long had passed before I finally managed to shuffle forward and push the door open. In the living room, a woman sat on the sofa eating fruit, while Mason Lynn peeled an orange beside her. When he offered a segment to her lips, he carefully removed the white pith. "Mason Lynn." My voice trembled, barely steady. Mason looked up and saw me; the tenderness in his face disappeared instantly, replaced by a tangled expression. "Willow, what are you doing here?" He stood up, instinctively stepping in front of the woman. The woman looked up at me, her eyes flickering with caution and a subtle hint of challenge. "Who is she?" I pointed at the woman's belly, my finger turning white from the pressure. "My name is Tessa Xavier." The woman spoke first, her voice soft, "I'm five months pregnant with Mason Lynn's child." "Five months?" I looked at Mason Lynn, my heart clenched like a fist. "I was locked up for only a year, and you've already moved on, let her get pregnant?" Mason Lynn frowned. "Willow Scott, don't get worked up. It's not what you think." "Then what is it?" I stepped closer. "You said you'd wait for me. You said you only loved me—was it all a lie?" Tessa Xavier stood up and reached out to grab my arm. "Please, don't blame Mason. It's me..." Before she could finish, I slapped her. The sharp slap echoed through the living room. Tessa covered her face, tears instantly streaming. "Mason..." Mason Lynn pulled Tessa Xavier protectively into his arms, his eyes filled with anger as he looked at me. "Willow Scott! Are you insane? How could you hit her?" "So what if I hit her?" My eyes burning red, I said, "She stole my man and is carrying your child. Did I do wrong by hitting her?" "She's clean, unlike you—you've been to prison!" Mason's words pierced my heart like a sharp blade. I froze, staring at the person before me—familiar yet strange—and suddenly, it all felt unbearably ridiculous. "Clean?" I laughed with tears in my eyes, "Mason Lynn, have you forgotten who went down for you back then? And now you're telling me she's clean?" Mason's face changed, but he still defended Tessa Xavier, "Let's not bring up the past. Since you're out now, I'll give you some money. Just don't come looking for us again." "Money?" I looked at him, "Mason Lynn, is what we had together worth just some money to you?" "What else do you expect?" Mason avoided my gaze. "It's over between us. Tessa's pregnant with my child, and I need to take responsibility for her." I took a deep breath, holding back the sharp pain inside me. "Fine, if that's what you want, then let's break up." Mason Lynn suddenly looked up. "Willow Scott, stop making a scene. I know you're hurting, but you can't just say you want to break up." "Why not?" I looked at him. "Mason Lynn, you were the one who betrayed us first. Now that I want to break up, who are you to say no?" "No means no!" Mason's voice grew harder. "You can't go anywhere—you have to stay with me." Seeing his obsessive stare, the last trace of hope in me crumbled to dust. So, he has always only thought about himself.

My Child, His Sin

"Mom, why has that man been staring at us all this time?" I whipped around. Richard Hawthorn was standing in front of the pancake stall, dressed in a suit, his eyes sharp like a poisoned blade. "Whose child is this?" His voice was tense. "Mine." I pulled Daniel behind me protectively. He grabbed my wrist. "Penny Franklin, you were already pregnant before you went to prison three years ago, weren't you?" I sneered, "Mr. Hawthorn, you sure have a good memory. But do you remember who was with Irene Wilson when I was bleeding heavily?" His face suddenly changed. "Who was it that had her send me the footage of the bed? Who deleted the surveillance and bribed the doctor after my mom was pushed down the stairs?" "Penny, I..." "You're using my mom's life to force me to take the fall." I stared at him. "Now on what grounds are you recognizing your son?"收起

Red Markings

The phone screen suddenly lit up in the dark, the harsh light casting over my frozen face. "Your husband's collarbone has a tiny mole, right? I've kissed it so many times." Blood rushed to my head. I grabbed the car key and dashed out the door, calling him. "Cameron, where are you?" My voice trembled. "The laboratory. What's going on?" The background noise on his end was unnervingly quiet. "I got a strange message..." He was silent for a few seconds, then suddenly chuckled softly, "Helen, aren't you being a bit too sensitive?" Just then, that number sent another message — a three-second voice clip. I opened it. In the background, there was familiar, suppressed panting and my husband's deep, teasing voice: "Don't make a fuss... My wife just called."收起

The False Death Certificate

2026-03-04
The divorce papers I personally signed hadn't even dried when Bruce Young pushed my daughter into a staged kidnapping, forcing me to "jump off the building." I smiled as I hung up the emergency number, preemptively stamping the death certificate—tonight, the first to die might not be me. Three years later, under the new identity of "Dr. Jones," I returned to campus, and he approached me in a suit: "Pleasure to meet you." I raised my hand, revealing the cold metallic glint of my prosthetic limb: "Mr. Young, a pleasure—returned from hell, and couldn't be happier."收起

No Way Back to Love

The flashbulbs flickered frantically. I clung to Caleb Lewis's hand, but my smile froze stiff on my face. The coldness from his fingertips seeped through the fabric of my formal dress, piercing straight to the marrow of my bones—much like the growing chill in our relationship. "Mrs. Lewis, how do you respond to the recent gossip about your husband?" A reporter's microphone was practically shoved in my face. Caleb suddenly tightened his grip on my wrist, his voice dropping to a warning whisper: "Don't say anything stupid." I turned to look at him, only to catch a fleeting glimpse of ruthlessness in his eyes. When we got home, he shoved my hand away abruptly: "Wear the haute couture I prepared for you at next week's charity gala." His words were a frigid command, as if he were speaking to a stranger. Late that night, the characters "Acute Leukemia" on the hospital diagnosis report stabbed at my eyes, making them ache....

No One Wins

2026-03-04
The phone screen glowed faintly in the dead of night, once again a message from that familiar yet alien number: "Do you think you have won?" I walked barefoot to the liquor cabinet and poured myself half a glass of wine. Outside the floor-to-ceiling window, the city lights scattered like spilled diamonds. Charles Sinclair slept soundly in the bedroom, his breathing even and calm. How absurd—after sharing the same bed for ten years, it was only this morning that I discovered a woman's earring inside the lining of his suit—shaped like a gardenia, utterly unlike my taste. "Jane," he suddenly spoke from behind, startling me so that my fingertips trembled and the puck struck the rim of the glass. "Why aren't you asleep yet?" I turned around and swirled my glass, letting the amber liquid shield his probing gaze. "I was thinking about what Micah said today," I let my voice fill with exhaustion, "Am I such a failure as...

The Scorned Wife's Redemption

Standing in the rain, I held Snow in my arms in front of the Lynn Family's villa. The nanny Amy frowned as soon as she opened the door. "Sophia? What are you doing here?" Hugo Lynn stroked Snow, his eyes cold. "Who let you in?" "Returning the cat." I held it out to him, and Snow immediately leaped into his arms. Rachel looped her arm through his, her smile sharp with malice. "Still stuck in the shadow of your divorce, are you?" I turned to leave, but Hugo called after me. "Rachel and I are getting engaged next month. I won't send you an invitation—don't want to ruin your mood." I glanced back, sneering. "Congratulations. Birds of a feather flock together." Rachel lost her composure at once. "You were the one who cheated back then..." "You drugged me and faked those photos!" I pulled out the surveillance screenshots. "Did you really think he'd never find out?" Hugo clenched his fists...
