Revenge for My Cat

2026-03-04

When I rushed home clutching the canned tuna, the cat climbing frame on the balcony was completely empty—usually by this time, Ginger would be swaying her orange tail, waiting for me. The cat bowl by the entrance still had half a serving of cat food. I searched under the sofa and behind the curtains, even found her favorite yarn ball, yet the round, plump figure was nowhere to be seen. The study door suddenly opened, and Cameron Green stood there with Willow Taylor leaning against him, wearing his white shirt. She chuckled softly and said, "That cat was too noisy. Cameron found it annoying and has already dealt with it." I stared at the photo Cameron Green handed me—Ginger was drenched in blood, the image stabbing at my eyes with pain. From this moment on, between him and me, only debts paid in blood remain.收起

Chapter 1 of "Revenge for My Cat"

My name is Stacy Xavier. I've been married to Cameron Green for three years, yet in the Green family, I live like a ghost. He rarely comes home. When he does, he stays in the study. The total number of words we've exchanged doesn't exceed a hundred. The closest family I have at home isn't my husband, but Ginger—the orange cat who has been by my side for ten years. I found Ginger during college. Then, it was no bigger than the palm of my hand, curled up by a trash bin behind campus, covered in mud and running a fever. I carried her back to the dorm, fed her warm water with a syringe, and took her to the vet in the middle of the night. The vet said she might not make it, but I didn't give up. Later, she grew into a plump ginger cat, with a white tip on her tail like it had been dusted with snow. On our wedding day, I said I wanted to bring Ginger along. Cameron Green frowned and said, "Whatever," his tone thick with impatience. But I brought Ginger anyway. Over these three years, she became my only solace. In the mornings, she'd sit by the bedroom door waiting for me to wake. When I came home from work, she'd leap off the sofa to rub against my ankles, letting out a soft, plush "meow." When I was down, she'd lie on my lap, rubbing my hands and purring so loudly it filled the room.

Everyone was waiting for my reaction, including the man I once believed would protect me forever — and he just smiled and said she was only joking. That's when I realized, some "female friends" never really just want to be friends.收起

Betrayal in the Details

2026-03-04
The sunlight on our seventh wedding anniversary morning was as warm as it had been on our wedding day seven years ago. But I was awakened by pain—not in my heart, but in my stomach, as if an icicle were piercing downward. Grandmother's voice still echoed in my ears from the dream: "Veronica, he has changed his heart." I opened my eyes to find three women sitting in the room: my close female friend, the girl he sponsors, and his most trusted assistant. Grandmother said, "That woman is among the people you see the moment you open your eyes."收起

The moment the phone rang, my world turned upside down. She clearly said she was the only one going on the business trip, so who the hell is this Calvin Jones? What's worse, this guy is her intern...收起

The White Tulip's Lie

I was trimming champagne roses when suddenly, the words "white tulips" pricked my ears. Looking up, I saw Daniel standing against the backlight. His sharp, well-tailored suit made my eyes ache. "Whitney? Is it really you?" He took a step forward. "The flowers are eighty," I said, lowering my eyes to wrap the bouquet, pretending not to recognize him. He slammed down a yellowed photo—one where I was leaning on his shoulder. "You said white tulips were just like our love!" "I got married three years ago," I pushed the bouquet toward him. "My husband gave me this shop." He grabbed my wrist; his palm was terrifyingly hot. "You're lying to me! This was our favorite place—you never let go of the past!" "Let go!" I wrenched my hand free. "Back then, the whole school called me names, my parents were so worried they got sick, and you were hugging Rachel, calling me malicious!" "Rachel lied to me!" His voice...

I fell from the eighteenth floor, yet began to float in midair. Looking down, I saw Julia White kneeling beside a pool of blood, her fingertip nearly touching my untied shoelace. She cried out my name, her voice breaking like shattered glass. When her spirit caught up with me, tears still glistened on her face. "Cyrus Lowry... we can finally—" "We can't." I cut her off; the little dog's spirit in my arms radiated a warm glow. She froze, her outstretched hand stiff in midair. "What?" "The heaven I'm heading to," I said, pointing to the pure light behind me, "has no place for you."收起

The Fight with My Zombies

2026-03-04
In the third year of the post-apocalyptic world, I huddled in the corner like a stray dog. "Mike, you useless wretch with no supernatural powers! Being with you is just waiting to die!" Quincy's voice was shrill and grating. Harry put his arm around her and said to me, "Know your place and get out of here on your own!" I clenched my fists tightly. "Don't go too far!" "Survival of the fittest—that's the rule of the apocalypse!" Harry sneered. "Trash like you is just wasting air by being alive!" Before his words faded away, the howls of zombies suddenly erupted in the night. I clung to the shelf, watching as a face-missing zombie pounced at me. Suddenly, a sharp pain exploded in my head, and a faint blue light flickered at my fingertips. To my surprise, the zombie retreated obediently behind me, whimpering softly. "Wha... What is this?"
