My Husband and Father Plotted to Harvest My Heart

At dawn, Terrence Yeager's hand gently brushed through my hair. Terrence Yeager: "Julia, when you go into surgery, don't be afraid of anything. I will be right by your side." Me: "Really... is it only a hysterectomy?" His eyes flickered briefly, then he kissed my forehead. "Of course, I swear." Outside the ward door, faint voices argued. My father, James Crystal, lowered his voice, "...Her heart must be absolutely flawless!" Terrence Yeager said anxiously, "Dad, are you sure it's safe to increase the dosage midway through the surgery?" James Crystal replied, "Don't worry—she won't feel a thing when her heart is taken... Lillian can't wait any longer."收起

Chapter 1 of "My Husband and Father Plotted to Harvest My Heart"

My name is Julia Crystal. The day I married Terrence Yeager, the sunlight was especially bright. I sat in the passenger seat, watching his focused profile as he drove, my fingertips still warm from the coffee he'd made for me that morning. We had planned to celebrate at a hot spring resort outside the city. He said he wanted to make up for me with a proper honeymoon. The screeching brakes shattered my eardrums, and I only managed to grab his arm. The violent impact knocked me unconscious instantly. When I opened my eyes again, it was the stark white ceiling of the hospital. The sharp smell of disinfectant filled my nostrils, making me cough uncontrollably. "Julia, you're awake?" Terrence Yeager's voice was hoarse, and when he held my hand, his palm was soaked with sweat. I turned to look at him; the red veins in his eyes were clear, and blue stubble had started to grow on his chin. Standing beside me was my father, James Crystal. His brow was deeply furrowed, and his eyes were full of worry. "The doctor said..." My father paused, his voice choked with emotion, "They can't save your uterus." My whole body stiffened, as if someone had doused me with ice water. Terrence and I had still been hoping to have a child of our own. Tears welled up uncontrollably, and I bit my lip hard, trying desperately not to cry out loud. Terrence squeezed my hand tightly, his voice steady: "Julia, it's okay. We don't need a child. I only want you." My dad nodded as well, patting my shoulder. "Julia, I'm here. No matter what, I won't leave you—Terrence won't either." Their words were a soothing balm, calming me just a little. I gave a weak smile and nodded. The nurse came in to inform me that the surgery was scheduled for the afternoon and to prepare myself. Terrence Yeager and my dad stood by my bedside, talking to me nonstop, trying to distract me. Later, the nurse brought the preoperative checklist and asked them to sign it in the hallway. The ward door wasn't fully closed; it was left ajar. I had planned to close my eyes and rest for a bit, but the conversation outside the door chilled me to the bone. It was Terrence Yeager's voice, urgent: "Dad, during the surgery, can we just take the heart directly?" My breath caught in my throat. The heart? Were they talking about my heart? "Why the rush?" It was my dad's voice, quiet but clear: "The doctor has already arranged it. First, they'll perform the hysterectomy. They'll increase the anesthetic dosage during the operation, so she won't feel a thing when they take the heart." "Lillian can't wait any longer. The doctor said her heart might only last a month at most." Terrence Yeager's voice was thick with anxiety. Lillian Crystal, my adopted younger sister. She was born with a congenital heart defect and has depended on medication all these years. I never could have imagined they would set their sights on my heart. "I know," my dad sighed, "Julia's life has been hard, but Lillian has been my daughter for so many years—I can't just stand by and watch her die." "If it weren't for finding a matching heart for Lillian, I wouldn't have agreed to you marrying Julia." My father added. So, this marriage was a lie from the very beginning. Terrence Yeager married me not because he loved me, but because my heart matched Lillian Crystal's. I felt like my entire world came crashing down in an instant. Those tender promises, those caring looks — they were all lies. They only saw me as a vessel to provide a heart for Lillian. "What will happen to her after the surgery?" Terrence's voice carried a barely perceptible hesitation. "Without a heart, what else can be done?" My dad's tone was icy cold, "Just say it was a surgical accident, a fatal complication." "That's fine too—it'll save us trouble down the line." Terrence Yeager's voice had calmed, as if he were discussing something insignificant. I bit down hard on my own arm, stifling any sound. The metallic taste of blood filled my mouth, but it couldn't compare to the pain in my chest. It turned out, the two people I trusted most were conspiring together to take my life.

A red silk rooster stood proudly beside the red carpet, and Ruby scoffed: "Grace, Mason's not free, so he's letting this rooster marry you." "Where is Mason?" I shouldn't have messed around." "Messed around?" I fixed my gaze on Mason, "You've let her take over my wedding room and embezzle my family's investment. Did you really think I was easy to bully?" I stood at the kindergarten gate, holding a box full of cranberry cookies, only to be blocked by Paul's black car. He rolled down the window, and the scent of cedarwood perfume mixed with sarcasm hit me in the face. "Olivia, do you really want to embarrass yourself in front of our son that badly?" I gripped the insulated box tightly, my fingernails digging into the palm of my hand. "I'm here to deliver snacks. This is my job." "Job?" He scoffed, his eyes sweeping over the flour-stained cuffs of my sleeves. "You used to avoid the kitchen like the plague, and now look at you—working as a cook, making a laughingstock of yourself?" He held out a bank card. "Take the money and get out of here. Don't let Alex find out his mother is so worthless." "Paul!" I suddenly raised my voice, tears nearly spilling from my eyes. The empty, dull ache in my lower abdomen hadn't faded yet when the hospital room door was kicked open. Melody stood by the bed, wearing a bright red dress. She held her phone screen right up to my face: "Look at your husband Bruce—see how sweetly he's smiling with me in his arms? This is the beach you've been longing to visit for five years but never got to." I clenched the bed sheets so tightly that my fingertips turned white: "You're lying! He's my husband!" "Husband?" She scoffed, her nails scraping across my cheek. "You are just a stand-in. All the jewelry and bags you received are nothing but trash I didn't want anymore." Suddenly, my phone vibrated, and a text message from an unknown number popped up: "Your third miscarriage wasn't an accident. Bruce put medicine in your milk." A cold chill swept over my entire body. I dialed Bruce's number, my voice trembling: "Was there something wrong...

He might need to be admitted to the ICU!" My legs were shaking violently. "Are you coming or not?" "Can't leave! I'm wining and dining Ms. Clark—this deal will net us a fortune!" Let's do it another day." But the news photos showed him with the intern Lena Jackson, standing outside a luxury boutique. "Estelle, where are you?" "At the company. What are you doubting now?" "I saw the photo." He was silent for a few seconds, then let out a cold sneer: "Yolanda, do you really want to tear everything apart? Do you honestly believe your parents were innocent?" I clutched the revised seating chart, kicked open the door to Philip's office, and snapped, "Why did you give my reserved seat to Sophia?" He didn't even look up. "Sophia said the investors need to coordinate with her—business comes first." "Business?" I slammed the paper down on his desk. "You promised we'd sit together at every annual gala. Did that promise count for nothing?" "Circumstances have changed," he frowned. "Don't be childish. It'll jeopardize the financing." "Childish?" I let out a cold laugh. "The way you talk to her is way more affectionate than you've ever been with me." The door swung open, and Sophia sauntered in with a provocative smile. "Rachel, I asked for that seat. After all, Philip and I have more important matters to discuss." "Important matters?" I stepped closer, my voice sharp. "Are you talking about the baby in your belly? Or are you plotting how to swallow up the shares in my hands?" Both of...

A few days ago, Chris whispered in my ear, "Natalie Lynn, we'll get engaged early next month, and I'll dote on you like a real princess." I gripped the wine glass tightly, my knuckles turning white: "Chris, have you forgotten our three years of companionship? Have you forgotten the tree you planted with your own hands?" He turned to look at me, his eyes filled with no remorse at all, only impatience: "Natalie, Mindy and I are soulmates. Stop being unreasonable." Mindy leaned against him, the corners of her red lips curling into a mocking smile: "Ms. Lynn, in a relationship, the one who isn't loved is...
