Accidentally scrolling through my best friend's secret account, I found photos of her and my husband holding hands in bed. The caption read: "Happy third anniversary, welcome our baby." Chapter 1 of "Her Secret Account"

The bathroom light was bright as I stared at the pregnancy test, the two red lines growing clearer and clearer. My heart suddenly raced, my hands trembled slightly as I gripped the pregnancy test tightly. I'm going to be a mom! I have to tell my husband Ian Thomas. We've been married for two years, and we've always wanted a child. I held the pregnancy test and gently pushed the door open. The living room was empty; Ian had gone to the office. The mobile phone lay on the coffee table, the screen still lit. There was a Twitter message from Mia James: "Ian, meet me at our spot tonight." I frowned. Mia is my best friend—we've grown up together. She and Ian were normally just polite acquaintances. Why would she want to meet at the "spot"? I picked up the phone, about to reply, "He'll be with me tonight." My finger swiped across the screen, accidentally opening the personal file page of her account. A post visible only to her appeared, a photo taken inside Ian's car. Mia leaned on his shoulder, smiling sweetly, with the caption: "Three years already, and I still like you." The post was timestamped on the very day Ian proposed to me. My mind went numb with a buzzing noise. My hand started to tremble, and I nearly dropped my phone. I kept scrolling down—photos of the two of them, all together. In our bridal suite, Mia was wearing my pajamas. At the restaurant we used to go to, they sat together, sharing a couple's set meal. There was even a photo of Ian putting a ring on her finger. It wasn't a wedding ring, just a silver ring that looked very similar to the couple's rings I wore. The caption read: "It's not a wedding ring, but I know you have me in your heart." The post was made on our first wedding anniversary. I stared at the screen, tears falling—I realized they had been together all along. Behind the happiness I believed in, such betrayal was hidden. My phone rang; it was Mia calling. I took a deep breath and answered. "Luna, how are you? Have you been feeling unwell lately?" Her voice was gentle, just as usual, but now it only made me feel sick. "I... I'm pregnant."I said, my voice trembling. "Really? That's wonderful! I'm going to be the godmother!" Her voice was filled with surprise. "I'll come see you tomorrow and bring you some nourishing food." "Okay." I hung up the phone, tears streaming down even harder. I used to believe I was lucky—having the best friend to care for me during my pregnancy efforts, and a gentle, understanding husband who let me freely hang out with my best friend. But now, it seems I was the biggest fool. I held my mobile phone and stepped out of the house, taking a taxi to the hospital. I registered and waited in line. The doctor asked me, "Are you sure you want to terminate the pregnancy? The baby is perfectly healthy." I nodded. "Yes, I'm sure." Tears fell onto the prescription slip, smudging the ink. I scheduled the abortion surgery for the next day. As I walked out of the hospital, night had already fallen. The wind was cold, cutting across my face like a knife. My happiness shattered completely.

The Milk Trap

I stared at the warm milk, droplets rolling down one by one. "Sergio, a glass of milk before bed helps you sleep." Sylvia Hamilton's voice was as sweet as honey. I didn't move. That gentleness—I've watched it for three years, and feared it for three years. "Why won't you drink it?" She moved closer, her breath nearly brushing the back of my ear. "I'm not thirsty." She lifted the cup, bringing it to my lips: "Just drink a little, I specially heated it for you." I turned away, locking eyes with her. Beneath the light, that beautiful face concealed something in its depths. "What did you put in this glass of milk again?" I asked. Her smile froze for a moment. "What are you talking about?" "The fiftieth time, Sylvia." My voice was low. "You think I'll never find out, don't you?"收起

Outside the window was the new car Edward Silva just sent, and on my phone, a secret photo of him kissing another woman. "Yvonne, aren't you gonna take a look?" My assistant asked cautiously. I shut off the screen, sneering coldly, "Look at what? See how much money he plans to throw at me this time to keep me quiet?" The door suddenly burst open, Edward Silva storming in with the night's chill in tow. "Yvonne, this time it's different," he said, voice low and laced with his usual coaxing, "Lillian Sullivan is pregnant with my child." The cigarette at my fingertips hung frozen in midair. He stepped closer, his breath hot against my ear, "Help me one last time. Handle it clean, like before." I slowly exhaled smoke and smiled.收起

"Shirley's charity concert—go turn the sheet music for her." I lifted these hands that could no longer play the piano and smiled: "Alright." Under the spotlight, his first love, Shirley Fisher, struck a wrong note. Then she maliciously invited me to join her in playing: "Wendy Martinez is the true musical prodigy." My fingers pressed against the piano keys, shooting pain through me. Shirley Fisher whispered close to my ear, her voice sweet as poison: "Your hands are truly useless; karma's a bi*ch, isn't it?" I turned my head toward Troy Johnson, waiting impatiently in the audience with his face darkening, and shouted: "I won't play." "It was these two who ruined my hands themselves."收起

"Petra, sign it, or I will make your life worse than death." Jerry pushed the divorce agreement in front of me for the tenth time; the cold paper cut through my heart like a blade. "Why should my property go to that b*tch?" Anne, wearing my robe, smiled like a blooming flower: "Because Jerry loves me." I clenched my fists, my nails digging into my flesh. "Not unless I'm dead." Jerry laughed, as if watching a dying ant struggle. "Fine, as you wish." That night, the stomach pain hit me again. I collapsed into the bathroom; my last conscious memory was of his indifferent back. When I woke, the hospital's disinfectant smell was sharp and biting. The doctor said my stomach had turned malignant—that I didn't have long to live.

After Divorce, I Became a Top-Tier Lawyer

"Laura, I borrowed Charles's shirt. Mine's still wet." Molly was wearing Charles's white shirt, its collar loose. She was twisting the hair tie I'd worn for three years in her hand. I clenched my fists, my voice trembling. "That's my hair tie. And his shirt—you have no right to wear it either." Charles immediately stepped in front of her. "It's just a shirt and a hair tie. Do you have to be this petty?" "Petty?" I laughed until tears streamed down my face. "She used your razor. She sat in your passenger seat and kissed you. Now she's waltzing in here and taking my things—and you call this petty?" Molly's eyes reddened. "Laura, it was my fault. Don't blame Charles." "Shut up!" I cut her off, my gaze fixed on Charles. "We're getting a divorce." His face dropped. He spoke in a threatening tone. "Laura, I'm a top-tier lawyer. You think you can get a divorce? You won't even get...

Exiled in Ashes

"Sign it." Norton Olsen slammed the agreement down in front of me, his gaze as cold as ice. "Serve Trista around the clock, ready whenever she calls." I stared at that humiliating paper, the old injury in my right hand aching faintly. For the past three years, I've been cooking and cleaning up the mess inside this cage. Norton Olsen sneered, "For your brother's medical bills, you'd better obey." "He's dead." I cut him off, staring straight into his suddenly shrinking pupils. I raised my disabled right hand, trembling but resolute: "Why do you think this hand is useless?!" "I'm the one who risked everything to rush in and save you during the earthquake three years ago—not Trista Sewell!" "All the humiliation you've piled on me over the years, consider it payment for the medical bills I covered for my brother." I opened the door and looked back one last time: "Norton Olsen, from now on, you and I—" "Will...
