Who Is the Real Heiress

2026-03-04

Clenching the strap of my canvas bag, I blended in with the customers, secretly spying on my own supermarket. Then the piercing alarm blared—for me. That intern manager, Diana Bourbon, hurried over. "The alarm on the security gate went off. What are you hiding? Take off your coat for inspection!" All eyes drilling into me, I forced myself to stay calm. "I didn't steal anything. You have no right to make me take off my clothes." She sneered, suddenly leaning close to my ear and whispering just loud enough for us to hear, "Right? Celine Anderson, do you really think you're the only heiress of the Anderson family?" "Your mom, Zoe Liebes, is just a homewrecker!" My mind went blank, and it felt like all the blood in my body had frozen solid. She looked at my pale face and smugly dropped the final bombshell: "My mom, Riley Bourbon, is Bob Anderson's legitimate wife. So, you, a secret daughter, what right do you have to act so high and mighty in front of me?" What? My mom was a mistress? I'm a secret daughter?收起

Chapter 1 of "Who Is the Real Heiress"

I gripped the strap of my canvas bag tightly, my fingertips digging into the rough fabric. Today is the third day of winter break and also my first incognito visit to my own supermarket. As the sole heiress to the Anderson Group supermarket, my father, Bob Anderson, always says I should get a better feel for on-the-ground operations, so I purposely wore faded jeans and an old sweatshirt. The security gate at the supermarket entrance glowed with a cold light as I followed the crowd through. "Beep—beep—beep—" A sharp alarm suddenly blared, cutting through the supermarket's noise. People around me immediately stopped in their tracks, all their eyes locked onto me. I froze for a second, instinctively checking my pockets — only my phone and keys were inside, no metal at all. "Miss, please wait." A clear but slightly sharp voice called out. I turned to see a girl in a supermarket intern manager uniform hurrying toward me. She had shoulder-length hair, and strangely enough, she looked just like me, but her eyes were full of scrutiny. "The alarm on the security gate just went off. Maybe you have some unpaid items on you." She looked me up and down, her tone tinged with barely concealed disdain. "Protocol requires a coat check. Remove it, please." I frowned and said, "I didn't buy anything, and I'm not carrying any prohibited items." "Whether you have them or not isn't for you to decide." She stepped forward, raising her voice a few notches, "Take off your jacket for inspection. If there's nothing wrong, we'll let you go." Whispers rippled around; some pulled out their phones to sneak photos, while others pointed fingers at me. "She doesn't look like a bad person. How did the alarm get triggered?" "Maybe she was trying to pull a fast one, stole something small and hid it in her clothes." "This intern manager is quite responsible, but the attitude is a little too harsh." Those whispers stabbed at my heart like needles, my cheeks burning with a mix of anger and frustration. "I'll say it again—I didn't steal anything, and I'm not taking off my jacket." I clenched my fists, trying to stay calm. "You can use a scanner to check; there's no need to strip." "A scanner?" She sneered, "The supermarket scanner's broken. Now it's all manual checks. If you're afraid to take it off, it just means you're hiding something!" Her words completely set me off. But I can't reveal who I am yet; I still want to see what's really going on at the supermarket without my identity blowing the plan. "What's your name? I want to speak to your supervisor." I stared at her employee badge—it said "Diana Bourbon." "Talking to the supervisor won't help. I'm in charge of security screening right now." Diana lifted her chin, totally confident. "Either take off your coat to prove you're innocent, or I'll call the police and accuse you of theft." The stares around me grew sharper by the second. I stood there, feeling like a clown being roasted alive. As the heiress of the Anderson family, I had never been humiliated like this before. But now, to keep my identity a secret, I have no choice but to endure it. Just as I hesitated about whether to give in, Diana suddenly reached out, trying to yank off my jacket: "Since you won't make a move, I'll help you take it off!" I stepped back sharply, dodging her hand, my eyes burning with anger: "Don't push it!"

"The perfume on your suit, Frank, isn't mine." I threw his coat onto the sofa, my fingertips cold. He tugged at his tie, avoiding my eyes. "I must've picked it up from a client. It happens." "Would a client join you for a candlelit dinner in the Rose Private Room on our Wedding Anniversary?" I slammed the invoice down. "And draw a heart with Mindy's lipstick?" "Whitney, stop being unreasonable!" He slammed his fist on the table. "Mindy's your sister — she's the deputy general manager of the company! We were just talking business!" "Talking business requires lying about working overtime?" I stepped closer. "Requires her parachuting into your company as the deputy general manager without even basic logistics knowledge?" The door suddenly flew open. Mindy walked in with her bag, smiling brightly. "Sister, why are you quarreling with Frank again?" "Quarreling?" I sneered. "You said you were on a business trip abroad last week — so why was your...

Besides me, who else would want a woman as unruly as you?" "Then I will just stay single." After breaking off the engagement, Kevin Luke's torment never ceased. He burst into my home, dragged me in public at a banquet, and even wreaked havoc at the engagement ceremony. On the day of the wedding, the church doors were violently thrown open; he stormed in clutching a dagger,...

The cell phone showed: the 15th of June. I was reborn. "Rose? Are you okay?" Moira Thompson's sweet, syrupy voice came through the phone. I gripped the cell phone tightly. "My father's research data... I found it." "Really?" Her breathing instantly grew rapid. "Is it about the climate anomalies?" "Not just that. There's also... some things he predicted." I Canceled Our Wedding After That Photo

"Mr. Lowell, you have seen the photo, haven't you?" The voice on the phone carried a teasing laugh, "Do you like this gift for you?" I stared fixedly at the screen. In the dim light of the parking lot, Wendy Sullivan was kissing that security guard passionately, unwilling to part. My blood ran cold. I nearly crushed my mobile phone in my grip. "Who are you?" "Someone... who doesn't want to see you kept in the dark." The other side chuckled softly. "Ten years of feelings, Mr. Lowell." The voice hissed like a venomous snake, "Tell me, how much do you think it's worth?" I closed my eyes, my voice so cold it sounded unfamiliar even to myself: "What do you want?" "Me?" That laughter grew even more joyful. "I don't want anything. I just want to ask you one question——"
