Predictions of My Unborn Child

2026-03-04

I caressed my swollen belly; the seven-month pregnancy felt heavy and full. The bank card under the pillow held the last lifeline of our family. "Mom, hurry and buy the funds and stocks! They'll surge tomorrow for sure!" A childish voice cut in abruptly, laced with an eerie urgency. That voice! In my past life, I trusted it, poured everything we had into it, only to end up with a stock market crash, company bankruptcy, my husband becoming a vegetable, my son dying a tragic death, and finally being pushed off a high-rise by my mother-in-law. "Mom, hurry up! Use the money to treat Harry and help Dad out of the pinch!" It kept urging me. "Okay, I'll do as you say." The voice fell silent at once, as if satisfied with my obedience. Little did it know that the debts from my past life would be repaid with interest in this one! At dawn, I clutched Kevin's stock account details and hit the "Sell All" button. The market opened with the expected rally, and the voice cheered again: "Mom, add more positions! Make a fortune!" "Just you wait," I whispered to my belly. "This is only the beginning. None of those who hurt me will get away."收起

Chapter 1 of "Predictions of My Unborn Child"

Moonlight outside the window streamed through the gaps in the tattered curtains, casting a slender shadow on the floor. I lay in bed, my lower abdomen slightly protruding—seven months pregnant, the signs were already quite obvious. Beside me, my husband Kevin Carter breathed evenly, sound asleep. In the next room, our three-year-old son Harry tossed and turned, muttering softly in his sleep. Harry was a premature baby, weak and often ill since birth, never far from medicine bottles. The family's finances were already tight; Kevin's company had just started, and money was needed everywhere. I clenched my palms, feeling the cold touch of the bank card hidden under the pillow—it held all our savings. At that moment, a tender yet clear voice suddenly echoed in my mind. "Mommy, buy funds! Buy stocks! They'll soar tomorrow!" I jolted awake, my heart pounding wildly. This voice... was it from my unborn daughter? In my previous life, this very voice had led me into an abyss of no return. I had believed her, taking all our savings to invest in funds and stocks. But the next day, the stock market crashed, funds collapsed, and we lost every penny. Later, she said Kevin was having an affair and planned to transfer our assets. Overwhelmed with anxiety, I rushed to Kevin's company and made a scene without listening to reason. That farce cost Kevin his most important cooperation, and the company went bankrupt immediately. Still later, she predicted the end of the world, urging me to hoard grain, rice, oil, and other supplies frantically. I spent all the little money I had left, piling the house like a warehouse, but the apocalypse never came. Crushed by the pressure, Kevin took Harry out to relax, only to be involved in a car accident. Harry didn't survive, and Kevin was left in a vegetative state. I sank into endless despair, but my mother-in-law Lily Clark blamed everything on me. That day, she shouted insults at me on the balcony, and in a fit of rage, she suddenly pushed me. I fell from the building, a sharp pain searing my abdomen, and blood blurred my vision. In the last moment before losing consciousness, I saw Lily's cold face and heard that voice in my mind laughing triumphantly. "Mommy, it's finally over." A bone-chilling cold made me shiver, and I snapped back to reality. The moonlight remained, Kevin still slept beside me, and Harry breathed steadily next door. I instinctively touched my lower abdomen—it was warm and soft. I had been reborn, back to the night I first heard my daughter's voice. This time, I would never repeat the same mistakes. The voice in my mind persisted, filled with the eagerness of a child. "Mommy, hurry up and buy! You'll miss the chance! Then we'll have money to treat Harry and help Daddy's company get through the tough times!" I closed my eyes, suppressing the hatred and coldness in my heart. On the surface, I pretended to be persuaded, whispering softly as if in a dream. "Okay, I’ll do as you say." The voice in my mind fell silent at once, seemingly satisfied with my obedience. I slowly opened my eyes, my gaze clear and resolute. Obedience was a pretense—revenge was the truth. I would uncover the conspiracy behind this voice and make everyone who had hurt me pay the price. As dawn broke, Kevin got up. After washing up, he walked to the bed and gently touched my forehead. "Nina, are you awake? I'm going to the company. I'll bring you your favorite sweet and sour pork ribs for lunch." His smile was still gentle, a world away from the decadent and desperate man I remembered from my previous life.

"I've guarded your 'ashes' for three years, and now you're going to marry Mindy?" His eyes darkened: "Lydia, there's more to this. I can't explain." "More to this means watching me suffer, watching her provoke me?" I touched the scar on his neck. "You got this saving me. Can you forget that too?" He stiffened. Mindy's footsteps echoed in the corridor. He pinned me against the wall: "Don't expose the past, or else—" I cut him off: "Or else kill me, and forge another death notice?"

The familiar scent of his cologne mixed with a hint of unfamiliar, cloying sweetness. "Eileen, if you leave me, where else could you possibly go?" He pinched my chin firmly, "A housewife without a job—how do you expect to support yourself?" I brushed his hand away, my tone so calm it made him frown: "That's none of your concern."收起
