Before I Die, Forgive Me

"This rundown shop thinks it can sell blue roses?" Sylvia Donald's coquettish voice scraped like a knife against glass. I clenched the pruning shears, watching Darcy Lancaster hold her as they walked in. "Sabrina Sinclair, the flowers Sylvia wants are never out of reach." He swept his hand across the flower rack; the sound of shattering glass exploded. "Darcy Lancaster!" I raised the wooden stick in self-defense. "Get out, and take your woman with you." He sneered as he stepped closer, "Seven years gone, and your temper's only grown. Remember how you betrayed me back then?" "Betrayed? You were the one who ruined my life first." The wooden stick slammed down with a whistle, blood pouring from his temple. "Sabrina Sinclair!" He staggered, grabbing the shelf. "You dare..." "What do I have to be afraid of?" I wiped the blood off my face and said, "A person with terminal brain cancer—is she still afraid of your revenge?" His pupils constricted sharply. "What did you say?" I leaned close to his ear and whispered, "Darcy Lancaster, tell me—who will die first, you or me?"收起

Chapter 1 of "Before I Die, Forgive Me"

The glass door was thrown open just as I was bent over, trimming a bouquet of champagne roses. A cold wind swept in, carrying a sharp scent of perfume, laced with undeniable arrogance. "You call this dump a flower shop?" A sultry female voice rang out. I looked up to see Darcy Lancaster holding a woman in a red slip dress standing by the door. Her nails were painted bright red; her restless fingers toyed with Darcy's tie, and her eyes swept the shop with pure contempt. Darcy Lancaster's gaze fixed on me. Seven years apart, and he was sharper than ever—his suit sleeves rolled up, an expensive watch peeking out from his wrist, and an icy aura radiating from him. "Sabrina Sinclair," he said, his voice cold and devoid of warmth, "Sylvia wants blue roses. You don't have any?" I set down the scissors, my fingertips still stained with rose sap. "Out of season—blue roses are out of stock." "Out of stock?" Darcy sneered and swept his hand across the nearby flower rack. The glass vase shattered on the floor, shards and petals strewn everywhere. "I think you're doing it on purpose." Sylvia Donald chuckled softly, leaning into his embrace. "Darcy, don't waste words on her. This little shop isn't worth tears, even if it gets smashed." Darcy Lancaster said nothing, just waved his hand behind him. Two men in black immediately walked in and began smashing everything inside—the crash of breaking flowerpots and collapsing shelves echoing nonstop. I watched the carefully tended flower shop turn to chaos in an instant, my heart clenched as if gripped by a hand, yet I felt no trace of panic. I slowly moved behind the counter and grabbed the wooden stick in the corner—a self-defense tool I'd prepared earlier, worried about dangers on late nights. "Darcy Lancaster, you've gone too far." My voice was calm, but my hand holding the wooden stick tensed slightly. Darcy turned to look at me, eyes full of derision. "Gone too far? Sabrina, what you did to me back then was a hundred times worse than this." He stepped closer to me, Sylvia Donald following behind with a smirk, clearly enjoying the spectacle. Just as he reached out to grab me, I lifted the wooden stick and struck him on the head without hesitation. With a muffled "thud," Darcy grunted and stumbled back several steps. Blood trickled down from his temple, dripping onto his pristine white shirt like glaring red plum blossoms, soon splattering across the floor. Sylvia screamed, "Darcy! Are you okay?" Darcy raised his hand to his forehead, seeing the blood on his hand, his eyes darkened immediately, "Sabrina, you actually hit me?" He clenched his teeth, his voice thick with menace, "If I don't die today, tomorrow will be your last day!" I gripped the wooden stick, standing amid the wreckage, expressionless, "If you can't die, then be the one to collect my body." The air froze instantly as Darcy Lancaster stared at me, the fury in his eyes threatening to consume me whole. In the end, he was supported by Sylvia Donald and the man in black, staggering out of the flower shop. Before he left, the way he looked at me was as if he wanted to tear me apart alive. I watched their fading figures and slowly lowered the wooden stick, but the trembling in my fingers wouldn't stop. Seven years... and after all this time, we've finally come to this moment.

Are you trying to ruin me with that garbage post? The whole company is laughing at me for marrying a dead weight!" "A dead weight?" I squeezed the photo of him and Lydia being intimate, sneering. "Why didn't you call me a dead weight when you were buying her limited-edition bags and slinging your arm around her shoulders?" He slammed the door open and stormed in. "Delete that post! Or you'll regret it!" "People are just telling the truth." I tapped the recording, and Lydia's cloying voice cut through the air like a knife. "Mr. Shaw, when are you going to divorce that frumpy wife?" Henry's face turned purple with rage. "You dared to investigate me?" "I just wanted to know if this family was worth it."...

That white luxury car I cherished most was driven out the door by his assistant, Susan, filled with people I didn't know, laughing so boldly. I picked up the phone, my voice so cold it sounded unfamiliar even to myself: "Follow that car and bring it back to me unharmed." My friend advised, "Maybe your husband allowed it?" I laughed, "Him? He doesn't have that kind of nerve yet." That night, Rory sat beside me, his tone reproachful: "Susan is just a young girl, playing around. Aren't you being too harsh?" I looked up at him and said each word clearly, "That is my car." He frowned, "She is my assistant. For my sake, can you not forgive her just this once?" I stood up, stared into his eyes, and finally asked the question I had been holding inside: "Rory, if one day you found that everything you rely on—your money, your car, your company—was all controlled by me, would...

The Name Carved in Error

I knelt at the end of the church's red carpet, holding the wedding ring high—engraved inside was "Reagan"—though the bride's name was Stacy. She tore off her veil with a fierce motion, her slap ringing out so sharply the stained glass seemed to tremble: "Your mother lies collapsed in the front row, and you have your first love engraved in the ring, Charles Jones—will you still go through with this marriage?" The moment the ambulance rushed in to take my mother away, I knew this wedding was over, and so were we. Three years later, holding my newborn daughter in the maternity ward corridor, I saw Stacy, soaked in blood, grin at me: "I sent her father to prison for you. Do you remember what you owe me?" I lowered my head to soothe the child, softly replying, "I remember, but the one whose life is owed is someone else; the one who owes you is your next life."收起

My heart skipped a beat. I grabbed my toolbox and rushed out. Upon arriving at the scene, the wind howled on the top floor. There, I saw that familiar figure—my ex-wife Hannah. She was clutching a remote control tightly in her hand, with a bomb wrapped in wires at her feet, and beside her stood Nora, a terrified and helpless girl. "Frank, you're finally here," Hannah's voice was shrill and frantic. "Get back together with me, or watch her die?" I tried to calm her down: "Hannah, don't act impulsively. Let's talk this through." "Talk? Do you even have the right to talk to me?" She sneered. "Choose—her,...
