The Diary of Betrayal

2026-03-04

The crystal chandelier blazed harshly; I held my champagne, smiling as I welcomed the company's anniversary celebration. Until Maggie Young said, "Mason Collins cried for me in the dead of night," and the applause around abruptly fell silent. I touched my still-flat belly, recalling that night he claimed to be working late but lingered by another woman's hospital room. It turned out I had lost not just a child, but my husband too. Tonight, I wear this off-white gown once more—only to rip apart their last shred of dignity with my own hands.收起

Chapter 1 of "The Diary of Betrayal"

Tonight was Mason Collins' company anniversary party; the crystal chandelier lit the ballroom as bright as day. I wore an off-white gown, linking arms with my husband, Mason Collins. Just as we reached the dessert table, I heard a familiar laugh. Turning my head, I saw Maggie Young holding a champagne glass, standing amid the crowd. Mason's arm stiffened instinctively beneath mine. "You're here?" Maggie smiled as she approached us, her eyes settling first on Mason. "Mason, I knew you'd wear that dark gray suit tonight. You said last time that fabric makes you look sharp." Mason tugged at the corner of his mouth. "Not bad." My fingers tightened around the wine glass; I said nothing. Maggie, as if she hadn't noticed my expression, continued speaking to those around her, "Mason and I have been like this since we were kids. So many things don't need to be said aloud to be understood." Maggie said to the group, "Last time he worked late until dawn, I specially made his favorite rib porridge and brought it to him. When he saw it, he smiled and said he was just thinking about it." Someone jeered, "The chemistry between Maggie and Mr. Collins really can't be matched by anyone else." Maggie's smile deepened, and as her gaze swept over me, it held a sharp edge of provocation: "Actually, it's nothing significant. Mainly, we've known each other for so many years." Maggie's eyes swept over me, laced with a hint of provocation: "Unlike some people, even after marriage, they might not really know what Mason truly needs." I finally couldn't hold it back any longer. "Maggie, what Mason needs right now is to eat a piece of cake with me. Excuse us." I grabbed Mason, trying to leave, but Maggie reached out and caught his arm. "Don't be in such a hurry to leave," she said lightly, but with an unsettling certainty. "Last time when Reagan miscarried, I was the first person Mason reached out to, wasn't I?" Her voice was light but carried an unsettling certainty: "He was so miserable back then, dragging me into conversation all night, saying his heart felt so clogged." The surrounding voices instantly quieted; all eyes locked onto me. I felt the blood rush to my head before freezing in place. Mason frowned, pushing Maggie's hand away. "Maggie, don't say nonsense." "What nonsense am I saying?" Maggie looked at Mason with a hurt expression. "That day, you clearly said Reagan had just been through that ordeal, her emotions were unstable, you didn't dare speak to her much, and could only confide in me." I looked at Mason, my voice trembling, "Is what she said true?" Mason avoided my gaze, whispering, "I was too impatient that day. Maggie is an old friend—I just wanted to talk to her to ease my mind." "So you could turn my most painful moments into some bragging story about your 'understanding' with her?" I gripped Mason's wrist so tightly my nails nearly dug into his skin. Maggie tried to speak again, but Mason cut her off first: "Maggie, why don't you go over there for a while? I need to speak with Reagan." Maggie Young curled her lip and even shot me a raised eyebrow before leaving. I shook off Mason Collins' hand and stepped back. "Mason, do you think my miscarriage means nothing?" "It's not like that," Mason stepped forward, trying to grasp my hand. "I was hurting too back then. I just didn't know how to say it to you." "You didn't know how to say it to me, yet you spent the whole night pouring your heart out to your childhood friend?" I looked at him, suddenly seeing a stranger in the man before me. "Mason, what exactly do you take me for?"

I slammed the evidence of Alex embezzling three million down in front of Lucy, my voice trembling. "Lucy, he's lining his own pockets. He must be dealt with!" Lucy glanced at the documents and snapped them shut coldly. "Daniel, you're being too sensitive. Effective today, you're relieved of your position as deputy general manager, and Alex is taking over." Alex pushed the door open and walked in, feigning reluctance. "Lucy, this isn't appropriate. Daniel has made significant contributions." "Competence is what truly matters." Lucy's familiar gesture of patting him on the shoulder stung my eyes badly. "The evidence is conclusive! Are you blind?" I roared. "You might have forged it." Lucy stepped in front of Alex protectively. "Pack your things and leave at once." I stared at our group photo on the desk and laughed bitterly. "Three years of friendship, and you believe him over me?" "You're so paranoid. How can you compare to Alex, who's always so thoughtful?" Her...

"Annual Food Delivery Report generated, click to see your food trail!" I swiped casually but my fingers froze the next second. "Milk tea... 127 orders?" I muttered, the screen's glow reflecting in my suddenly shrinking pupils, "Hasn't she always disliked it?" Scrolling down, the delivery address was a strange neighborhood I'd never heard of. Twenty kilometers away. "Who... lives there?" I took a deep breath and called her. There was soft music in the background, along with a man's quiet chuckle. "Roy?" Her voice was as gentle as ever, "What's up?" "Nothing." I heard my own voice unusually calm, "There's something urgent at work; I have to stay late tonight. Don't wait up for me."收起

The Love That Was All a Lie

"Sarah, it's time to cut the cake." Raymond's voice was gentle, his smile as flawless as a meticulously carved mask. Before I could reply, the large screen in the banquet hall suddenly switched, instantly replaced by a photo. In the photo, Raymond held the woman named Quincy in his arms, kissing her passionately. The entire hall fell deathly silent. I heard my own voice trembling, yet it was unusually clear: "Raymond, what is this?" "Sarah, don't spoil everyone's mood." "Have you forgotten who helped you out of trouble, who gave up everything to start from scratch with you?" He let out a sneer, leaned down close to my ear, his tone vicious: "So what? Now I'm the chairman of Jones Group." "And you? You're just the Mrs. Jones by my side." "Without me, you couldn't even get rid of your deadbeat father." The words were like a poisoned dagger, piercing through all my pretense. I suddenly raised my hand and...

After Meeting My Ex at My Friend's Wedding

I ran into my ex-boyfriend Kevin at Rachel's wedding. We hadn't seen each other for five years and reunited at Rachel's wedding, yet we didn't even bother to nod at each other. After the wedding ended, Rachel took my hand and said: "Haven't you noticed? Every girlfriend Kevin dated afterward bore a resemblance to you." “Until Yvonne showed up. She was an exception." Yvonne? “She's the total opposite of you—super outgoing, and Kevin spoils her rotten." "Everyone says Kevin has truly fallen for her this time." A week later at our old friends' gathering, Yvonne was indeed sitting right next to him. "Wendy," she walked straight over with a glass of juice, her smile masking malice, "I heard the Louis Group warehouse burned down five years ago, and all evidence pointed to you?" The air fell silent immediately. I looked at Kevin, but he only said gently to Yvonne: "Yvonne, be good." "I'm just curious," Yvonne raised an eyebrow, "otherwise...

Love's Cruelest Joke

That night, in the corner of the bar, forced to drink and drowning in despair, he showed up. "Will you come with me?" Ernest's voice was low, like salvation but also temptation. "Yes." I grabbed him like he was my last straw. Five years later, I bared my heart to him—only to be met with a complete, shameless betrayal. "Will you marry me?" Holding our child, I asked him one last time. "Molly, stop it." He said irritably, eyes darting away, "I'll take good care of you and our child." The ridiculous thing was, his "taking care" meant walking out of my delivery room holding our child to marry another woman—my sister, Willa. "Ernest," on his wedding day, I sent him one last message at the airport: "You promised to protect me for life." "It's true." He replied instantly, the phone ringing again immediately, "Where exactly are you? Did you make our child disappear—" I didn't listen to the end;...
