The Day I Revealed I Was the Billionaire's Granddaughter

"Veronica Sinclair, you're nothing but a pretty face used as a trophy. Do you really think Mr. Fitzpatrick would marry you?" Willa Locke's red lips were almost brushing my ear, her voice as sweet as poison. Beneath the crystal chandelier at the annual meeting, with a slight flick of her finger, that plate of braised spare ribs slipped away from my chopsticks. "The future of the Fitzpatrick Group depends on elites like me, not on someone like you who only knows how to sleep with the boss—" "Willa Locke." I cut her off, my knuckles white around the napkin. "Want to have a look at those 'late-night overtime' photos in your inbox?" Her expression froze immediately. "Jerome," I said, holding up my phone for everyone to see, the screen displaying a surveillance screenshot of Willa Locke leaving his apartment late last week. "You said if you're cheating, remember to take it clean." His pupils contracted sharply. "But more importantly—" I dialed an encrypted call in front of him. "Grandpa, it's time to acquire the Fitzpatrick Group." An aged voice carrying a smile came through the phone: "Had enough of playing around, Veronica?"收起

Chapter 1 of "The Day I Revealed I Was the Billionaire's Granddaughter"

The crystal chandelier's light spilled over the carved dining table. The steak on the plate was still steaming hot. I picked up the serving chopsticks, aiming for that enticing piece of Braised Spare Ribs. Just as my fingertips touched the chopsticks, the turntable suddenly spun sharply. The Braised Spare Ribs slid to the opposite side. I froze for a moment, then looked up. A young woman in an off-shoulder evening gown was pulling her hand back. Her makeup was exquisite, and her eyes held an unmasked challenge. "Miss Sinclair," she said with a coy laugh, her voice low but clear enough for those nearby to hear, "Mr. Fitzpatrick said we need to watch our image at the annual meeting. Your eagerness to grab meat so quickly is hardly graceful." Muffled snickers rose around us. I tightened my grip on the chopsticks. "Willa Locke," I kept my voice steady, "before reaching again for the rotating tray, shouldn't you see if others are still serving themselves?" Willa Locke raised an eyebrow, her smile widening. "Oh dear, I'm sorry," she feigned innocence, blinking deliberately. "I thought someone like Ms. Sinclair—who only needs to be a decorative vase—wouldn't really mind greasy food." The words "decorative vase" pricked my ears like needles. I was about to retort when a commotion broke out at the banquet hall entrance. Jerome Fitzpatrick had arrived. He wore a sharply tailored black suit, his posture erect—still the most dazzling figure in the crowd. A flicker of hope stirred within me. He is my fiancé and will always have my back. When Willa Locke saw Jerome Fitzpatrick, she instantly withdrew her provocative look and adopted a pitiful expression. "Mr. Fitzpatrick," she hurried to Jerome's side, her voice quivering with tears, "I just accidentally spun the wheel, but Ms. Sinclair snapped at me and even said I didn't know the rules." Jerome Fitzpatrick's gaze landed on me, utterly cold. "Veronica," he frowned, his tone reproachful, "Willa is new and inexperienced; there's no need to hold it against her." I looked at him in disbelief. "She provoked me first and even called me a trophy." I tried to explain. Jerome Fitzpatrick waved his hand, escorting Willa Locke toward the main seat. "Willa is a talent I personally recruited," his voice rang out firmly, "she studied abroad for many years, is exceptionally capable, and represents the company's future." He paused, his gaze sweeping over me with clear displeasure. "As for you, Veronica," his tone grew cold, "why did you offer such a large concession on the Dragon Rise Global Group cooperation deal?" "The company's interests are not something you use to curry favors."

The phoenix tree leaves carpeted the courtyard for the third time, and I clutched the divorce papers so tightly that my knuckles turned white. "Nancy, do we really have to go this far?" Chris hesitated, his fountain pen hovering above the paper. "Go this far?" I sneered. "When you brought Rachel home, let her occupy my bridal chamber with your child in her belly—why didn't you call that 'going too far'?" He grabbed my wrist. "She cured my illness. You have to take care of her!" "Take care of her?" I wrenched free, my voice rising. "What was I to you these past three years?" Rachel leaned over, feigning a soft tone. "Nancy, please don't make things difficult for Chris..." "Shut up!" I glared at her. "You slipped that drug into my drink—dare you say it was an accident?" Chris pulled out his phone and hit record. "Don't slander us with lies!" I fixed my gaze on his hypocritical face....

Golden Cage, Empty Heart

On the day of my engagement, I was kidnapped. "800 million. Not a cent less, or I'll kill him." When the kidnapper's voice came through the voice changer, I was still thinking about how desperate Stella must be, unable to find me. She always said she wasn't worthy of me and wanted to stand by my side on her own. So I used my resource to pave the way for her, even personally designing the wedding ring. Over the phone, my dad's voice trembled: "Jeremy, don't be afraid. We'll gather the money." Fifteen days. Darkness, hunger, and blows. I held on by thinking of her. Until the kidnapper kicked open the warehouse door and turned the TV toward me. In the financial news, Stella Eaton's makeup was flawless as she linked arms with Troy James, smiling at the camera. The subtitles scrolled: "Ms. Eaton and Mr. James join forces to enter the new energy industry, raising over one billion in...

On graduation day, Nora Carter's eyes were red as she begged me to shoot a "memorial photo style" series. She said it would go viral, and I couldn't say no, so I pressed the shutter. Three days later, she really blew up, and I ended up winning the Newcomer Award in the photography scene because of it. We teamed up to build a top influencer account until Valentine's Day live streaming, when she knelt before my boyfriend in front of millions of fans, proposed to him, and kicked me out of the team. I wiped away my tears and smiled: What you took was just something I didn't want to be part of anymore.收起

I Married Your Brother

The late autumn wind cut like knives, yet the chill in my heart as I stood before the Shaw Group tower ran deeper than any winter. Not far off, the wreckage of "W Cafe"—Nola's domain—stretched before me, a nightmare born from ruins. Simon stormed inside, then wheeled around, his gaze sharp as an ice blade. "You did this, didn't you?" I shook my head, denial dying in my throat as his grip tightened around my wrist, pain searing through the cold. "Everyone in this city knows you can't stand Nola," he sneered, pressing the barrel of his gun to my temple. The cold metal sent tremors through my body. "It wasn't me!" I pleaded, my eyes brimming with desperation. But he was deaf to my words. With one harsh shove, I plunged into the icy pool, swallowed by a despair as deep as the water. When I dragged myself ashore, his retreating figure was the final blow—the last shred of...

The Yacht

I was filled with joy as I prepared for my birthday. Calvin Luke had sworn to give me a big surprise—a custom yacht, an exclusive banquet. On the day of my birthday, I dressed up carefully and waited for him, only to be met with a ridiculous farce. In a group chat, Calvin Luke and Vivian Lincoln stood in front of a yacht named "Vivian," cutting the ribbon and sharing an intimate kiss. He actually told me to swim to the banquet, saying the yacht was 'too crowded.' The vows we once made have all turned into a joke...收起

I stood at the entrance of the obstetrics and gynecology department, clutching the prenatal checkup checklist tightly in my hand, my heart full of joyful anticipation for the new life growing inside me. A message came through from Calvin on my phone: he said the experiment was at a critical stage and he couldn't leave, and that I only needed to finish the checkup and then report back that I was safe. But on the operating table, the cold instruments pronounced our child lost, while my husband—the man I longed for with all my heart—was driving my car to pick up Maggie Scott, stranded in the heavy rain. A miscarriage tore away the false mask of our marriage, and only then did I realize how utterly I had wasted five years of my life...收起

Revenge for My Bullied Daughter

The deep, bone-exposing scratch on my daughter Tina's cheek gnaws at my heart like a venomous snake. Morgan knelt by the hospital bed, his knuckles white with tension: "Sunny, I promise you, Harry will be expelled—I won't let Tina suffer a single ounce of injustice!" I believed him, but on the fifth day, when Mary came to my door, I realized how utterly foolish I had been. "Ms. Quinton, thanks to Morgan's help, my son wasn't expelled." "Kids just messing around; there's no need to cling to it." After I caught Morgan at Mary's apartment, all the pretenses came crashing down. "The urgent matter you mentioned at the company—was it about you and your old lover being together?" At that moment, Harry charged out wielding a slingshot, his eyes fierce: "It's all your fault! I almost got fired because of you!" A stone from the slingshot cut through the air; the sharp pain in my right eye made everything go...

"Carson Johnson! Can't you lend me a hand? I'm about to break down!" I gritted my teeth, struggling under the heavy load, the ache in my back piercing deep into my bones. He sat motionless on the sofa, eyes glued to the TV. "I told you, my spine hurts. I can't move." "Hurts?" I slammed the box down, tears welling up, "Last time I fell down the stairs, you were annoyed that I interrupted your meal; When I was eight months pregnant and fell, you were playing games and told me to get up by myself! How come your spine stops hurting whenever Yolanda Xavier is around?" His face changed abruptly: "What nonsense are you talking about!" "Me? Talking nonsense?" I slammed my phone down in front of him. In the video, he was holding Yolanda Xavier steadily, his smile so gentle it stung: "You can carry her around the amusement park, bend down to make her laugh, but you...

A Late Confession

My 18th birthday banquet, which should have been the happiest day of my life, turned out to be the start of a nightmare. "Helen, what are you hiding? You look so sneaky." Margaret's shrill voice stabbed at me like a poisoned needle. She snatched the diary from my pocket in one swift move, and then read aloud the feelings I had hidden for Henry over the years—all of them. I looked at Henry in a fluster, only to see his eyes as cold as frost. "Disgusting," he said. Later, he locked me up in that villa. Before leaving, he warned, "Helen, for the rest of your life, you must stay far away from me." I was forced to flee to a foreign country. For a full six years, no one in S City remembered that lonely girl he had discarded like a worthless scrap. But now, as I stared at the "reconciliation" invitation Henry had sent, a soft laugh escaped...
