Chapter 1 of "Reborn With My Enemy Sister"

I still remember the icy river water pulling me under while Emily laughed on the shore. That laughter was sharp and piercing—completely unlike the fragile act she usually put on. I know she was the one who pushed me. This wasn't the first time. In my past life, my name was Emma Tower, and she was my twin sister, Emily Tower. From as far back as I can remember, she just couldn't stand to see me happy. When I scored better than her on exams, she would wait until I fell asleep and tear up my homework. The new dress Mom bought me would always have a few more holes by the next day. The worst part was, even though she knew I was afraid of water, she deliberately pushed me into the river. But Mom and Dad always took her side. They kept saying Emily was weaker than me, so I should be the one to give in to her. Even the boyfriend I'd been with for three years was eventually stolen by her. That day, I caught them hugging, and all the resentment I'd bottled up for over ten years exploded at once. I rushed at Emily and struggled with her, and in the chaos, we both fell off the balcony. In the last moment before losing consciousness, I had only one thought: I hated them, and I hated myself for not being born into a better family. If only back then, I could have been my aunt Trinity Williams's daughter. Trinity Williams is the wife of Dad's cousin, Matthew Tower; she's always so gentle. When I was little, I was bullied by Emily until I cried; only she would crouch down to wipe my tears and secretly slip me candy. More than once, I fantasized how wonderful it would be if she were my mother. I never expected this wish to actually come true. The next time I became conscious, I found myself in a warm, soft place. There was a steady heartbeat around me, and gentle voices speaking. "Are you being a good baby for me today?" It was Trinity's voice! I suddenly realized—I had been reborn, and had reincarnated inside Trinity's womb! A wave of immense joy surged over me, and I couldn't help moving slightly. "Ah, she kicked me!" Trinity's voice brimmed with delight. "Matthew, come feel!" A warm hand gently rested on the spot where I was—it was Matthew. "Our daughter is really full of life." His voice was filled with tender affection. So they already knew I was a girl—and they were so happy. It was completely different from the disappointment my parents showed in my past life when they found out I was a girl. I curled up peacefully, feeling a warmth I had never known before. But this warmth didn't last long before the hospital room door was pushed open. The footsteps were very familiar—it was my former birth mother, Miranda Sheen. She walked over to Trinity's hospital bed, her gaze strange. "Sis, your pregnancy seems to be very stable." Miranda's voice was a bit stiff. Trinity smiled and nodded, "Just so so, just occasionally I would feel tired." Miranda was silent for a moment, then suddenly stared at Trinity's belly and said, "Some things that aren't yours, no matter how hard you try to snatch them, you can't take away." My heart tightened. What did she mean by that? Could it be that she also remembers the past life? Trinity didn't notice anything was wrong and kept talking to her about pregnancy precautions. Miranda didn't stay long before leaving, but before she went, she glanced once more at where I was, her eyes full of complicated emotions. This time, I will never let Emily bully me again, nor will I get entangled with Miranda or Adam Tower, my former father. Trinity, from now on, you are my only mother.

A mobile payment alert pops up. The thermos bucket in my hand clatters to the floor. "Bruce! Where did you transfer Noah's surgery fee?" I rush into the study, my voice trembling. He holds a cigarette between his fingers, scrolling through his phone. "Gave it to Stacy. Her commission for that deal." "That's money for his life!" I grab the collar of his shirt. "The doctor said Noah has to have the surgery next week!" Bruce shoves me away, his tone dripping with contempt. "We can scrape up more money later. If Stacy leaves, the company will collapse. What's the hurry with Noah?" "He's your son!" I scream and lunge at him, but he slams me against the wall. The door swings open, and Stacy walks in. "Susan, don't get so worked up. Mr. Bruce knows what he's doing." I glare at the two of them. "Bruce, if you dare touch this money, I swear I'll make you lose everything...

The Scented Maiden

2026-03-04
The golden threads along the hem of the wedding dress still shimmered under the warm yellow light; the cedar scent on Felix Lewis' shirt—the cologne I had specially blended for him—had yet to dissipate, when a pair of rust-scented hands clamped over my mouth. A moment before the black cloth was drawn over my eyes, I saw in the mirror the wedding dress like a coagulated pool of blood, and the sickly sweet stench of inferior perfume piercing my nostrils—later, this became the trigger of my nightmare. When I awoke again, the damp chill of the warehouse seeped into the wedding dress, and the hospital's voice burst from my mobile phone: 'Ms. Scott, your father is undergoing emergency treatment for a myocardial infarction in the ICU!' Mother grasped me, trembling with sobs: "It was the Lewis family... They are the ones who harmed your father!" Clutching the blood bead in my palm, I finally discerned the malicious eyes of Lisa...

I caught my husband Howard James locked in a kiss with his childhood friend Willow Charles on the couch. He snapped away suddenly and rushed over, "Selena, don't get the wrong idea! Willow fainted so I gave her CPR!" Willow Charles stood by, clutching her chest, eyes wide and scared. I laughed bitterly, "CPR? Does it really take this long?" But that ridiculous scene was only the beginning. At the hospital, just as the doctor came out, Howard James hurried up, "How's my baby?" "My baby"—those two words hit me like a thunderclap. Last winter, he signed the abortion consent form himself, ending our baby's life. I slapped him hard across the face, the crack sharp and clear. He covered his face and yelled, "Are you crazy?" I stared at him, tears burning in my eyes. "When I was pregnant, you said you didn't want to be a father. Now she's pregnant, and suddenly you do?"收起

A cold blade pressed against my wrist, warm water flooding over my ankles. It's been five years—images of my parents falling from that high building haunt me day and night. The phone screen lit up, the push notification's headline stabbing my eyes—Venus Star Award recipient for Best Actress, Linda James, exposes her secrets of rising to fame. By some strange twist of fate, I clicked it open. On the screen, the face of the woman I once called my best friend, drunk and sneering coldly: "Back then, Yara Hill, that idiot... I got her drunk and sent her to the director's bed. Finn went mad and chose to be with me—a wise choice." "Her parents couldn't handle the shock—they actually jumped off the building." The blade on my wrist clattered to the floor. It turned out that my five years of hell, my shattered family, was just a casually tossed-off line from her—a meticulously planned carnival.
